Apologies and re-evaluation

First I'll start with the apologies. I'm so sorry about the word of the day (even though I think you guys hate it). I've had so much things going on that I haven't had time to get them sorted out. Rest assured you'll have more venting in the next couple... Days? Weeks?

This is where the re-evaluation comes in. For the past couple days I've been re-evaluating my life. Re-evaluating the friends I have, what I do etc. I've realized that I have sucky friends. The people I interact with aren't the best for me. I'm thinking that I may have to drop these people and be alone for a while. I've even been thinking about going to the cinema alone, going to dinner alone, you know. I've been depressed about this but I'm used to it so I'll be okay. I think >.<

Even though I'm used to it, it still hurts. It still makes me upset. Is the world so terrible? *sigh* I don't know what else to say. I'm just tearing up right now.

Depressing day yesterday and a frog

Bonjour guys. I'm now starting my day with some Restaurant City and the sperm donor just came in and told me good morning. All of a sudden now he's in a cheery mood and talking to us and so not being grumpy. I do believe part of the reason is that he resigned from his job and has no intention of going back and the other part is because he got his visa to 'visit' my aunt in Oregon. I say 'visit' cos we're not too sure if he's gonna visit or migrate. Right now we're in shit street cos of this. My mum is on vacation and I have my exams. My mum is riding my ass to get a job and all I want to do is relax and live through my exams. I've been stressed out for so long that I just want to relax for a couple months before I get back into it all but the pressure is on me cos I need a job to help us live and because I wanna go to that fancy-schmancy school. *groans* Why is life so hard?

Yesterday morning while I was chilling and being depressed my mum told me to go outside (in the rain) and release a frog that had been trapped in the dog kennel. The dogs were still in the kennel and she wanted me to move the frog so the dogs wouldn't attack it and they died blah blah blah. Bob alone knows why the fuck I went outside WILLINGLY to do this. Perhaps because I was in a depressed stupor. So I went outside in the rain with my umbrella armed with a broom to push/pull the frog outside. I opened the kennel and the dogs instantly rushed from the kennel. Neither dogs nor frog took notice of each other. It was jammed into the corner of some buckets that we keep in the kennel but it was still pretty close to being outside of the kennel. I went inside the kennel and started pushing on the buckets to coax it outside. It worked for a while until the motherfucker started hopping INSIDE THE KENNEL IN MY DIRECTION. I screamed like the girly girl I am and ran out of the kennel. Of course my sister was laughing at me. But a least the frog was in the kennel away from my dogs. I locked it in the kennel til the sperm donor came home and he got it out. Bob alone knows how but at least it's gone now.

Happy (late) Mother's Day!

I hope you guys had a great Mother's Day. My mum enjoyed her day thoroughly cos I cooked lunch for her. She wanted lasagna and barbecued chicken. I have no idea how the two mesh. It was my first time making lasagna yesterday but it came out awesome. I'm proud of it ^_^ My sister was being such a lazy bum yesterday. It was so annoying. I needed help doing stuff and she was just playing games on the desktop. What the heck? So what my mum had for lunch yesterday was lasagna, barbecued chicken and potato salad. I know. Weird combination. Lol. But she loved it. Yesterday the sink just refused to be devoid of dishes. I swear. I woke up early yesterday to wash the dishes so that there would be dishes for me to use and for the sink to be empty. While I was cooking, the dishes proliferated (of course) but my sister washed some of it. After I cooked, the dishes just kept on coming and I woke up this morning to a sink FULL of dishes. I mean FULL. I spent about an hour washing the dishes.

Anyway I guess I should update you guy son my life, huh? Yup. Well I have my second exam this afternoon (first one was last week Wednesday) and I'm not excited nor am I afraid. It's sort of routine now. I really haven't done any major studying mainly because I don't have a lot of notes in most of my subjects. I just remember stuff. The exam I have today is Communication Studies Paper 2. It's the essay writing paper. I'm fed up of writing already lol.

Hmm... What else is new with me? Well I have a new job. It's not permanent and It's only on Saturdays. It's at the same place I had over the vacation. It's boring but the pay is alright. If I had something more to do I'd be great. Nothing much else is really new. I've fallen for my best friend. I think she knows that but ignores me. I'll have to tell her formally so she really understands. I'm gonna see her today cos we have that exam today but I don't think I should tell her while we're in school. I might invite her home or something. Bleh. Life is so hard.

Adventures around the interwebs

Trini Cuisine: Two Cupcakes, One bowl

Yes kids. You heard me. Two cupcakes. One bowl. It's super duper easy but with my baking skills, my cupcakes kinda failed. The recipe can be found on the original site here. Did I mention that this recipe makes two cupcakes? Fuck yea. The perfect amount for you and your sweetie without having to break out the standing mixer to cream butter and sugar.

1 egg white
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 c flour
1/4 heaping tsp baking powder
1 pinch of salt
1 1/2 tbsp milk

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
  • Line pan with two liners
  • Add egg white and sugar to a bowl and whisk until combined
  • Add vanilla and butter and stir until combined
  • Add flour, baking powder and salt and mix until smooth. The batter should be thick. Don't worry the milk will thin it out.
  • Stir in the milk
  • Divide the batter equally between the two liners
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes
  • Enjoy!
Next time I make this, I'll take lots of pretty pics for you guys <3

Trini Cuisine: Easy Breezy Cheesy Mashed Potatoes

Oh God pleeeeeeease excuse the name. I was thinking "Easy, breezy, beautiful, Covergirl" when I thought it up.

Garlic (optional)
Salt and pepper
Green seasoning (optional)
Red pepper flakes (optional)

I know what you're thinking. "Where are all the measurements?" Well this is recipe is my own make up recipe so the ingredients and the amounts of each recipe vary depending on my mood and if I'm cooking for myself or everyone else. Don't worry about it, kay?

Okay so let's go.

  • You peel the potatoes or not depending on how much roughage you can take. I happen to like roughage so I scrubbed my potatoes and chopped them up to add to the boiling water

  • I added salt to the water. I usually add enough that the water tastes salty so that the potatoes absorb enough salt that I don't have to add salt later. I also add green seasoning to the water for that additional nom-ness

  • When the water comes to a boil add the potatoes
  • While those are cooking let's smash some garlic!! I love garlic so I always add lots of it. This time I got one huge clove so I didn't have to chop up more than that one clove
Huge garlic clove!!

Huge garlic clove smashed!

Huge garlic clove chopped!!
  • Now I'm gonna make a rip-off of garlic infused oil except with butter. Instead of having chunks of garlic all through your mashed potatoes (which I happen to LOVE), we're gonna have the garlic flavour throughout our mash without the garlic.
  • Sooooooo put the garlic in a microwavable bowl and add the butter. Cut up the butter so it melts faster. Microwave til it's hot and voila! Garlic infused oil
Butter and garlic before microwaving

Butter and garlic after microwaving. garlic infused oil/butter!!  The butter tastes like garlic. I swear
  • Now grate some cheese, bitch! I like my mash cheesy so I grated a lot of cheese.
Totally making a mess on the table

  • Those potatoes should be done now so drain em and dump them in the bowl with the garlic infused butter. Mash them up and then add the milk and mix til combined
  • Next add the cheese, black pepper and red pepper flakes. Mix until combined
  • EAT!!
Mmmmmm yummmm....

Makes me feel hungry now >.<

Yes I still have my Adventure Time screensaver
